George R. Teslovich Sr.

George R. Teslovich Sr., of Masontown, Pa., died peacefully at the age of 92 on Friday, October 2, 2015.

He was born on Saturday, May 19, 1923 in Brownsville, Pa., son of late John Teslovich Sr. and Mary (Staso) Teslovich.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years, Irene L. (Spinetti) Teslovich; a grand daughter, Natasha A. Gaziano; and brothers Charles Teslovich, Michael Teslovich and John Teslovich Jr.

He is survived by three children: Myra Teslovich Gaziano and husband Phillip Gaziano Jr. of Lake Mary, Florida, George M. Teslovich Jr. and wife Elaine Dicesere Teslovich of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, Rebecca J. Teslovich Cappellini and husband Anthony Cappellini of Land-O-Lakes, Florida.

Also surviving are two treasured grandchildren: Rina Gaziano-Karle, Esq., and her husband Philip S. Karle Sr., Esq., and George Marino Teslovich; two great grandchildren: Philip S. Karle Jr. and Lily Anne Karle; one sister, Mary Teslovich Celestine; and two brothers: Franklin Teslovich and James Teslovich; a very special brother-in-law, Frank Spinetti; and numerous other family members.

George Teslovich is a graduate of Brownsville High School.

He founded and operated, along with his partner, Solomon and Teslovich (S&T) Inc. for almost 40 years. Several of the company’s major projects included excavation for the Civic Arena, Pittsburgh, road construction of Section III of the Uniontown By-pass, six miles of Interstate 79 in Greene County, and Route 1030 which connects Route 119 to the Pennsylvania Turnpike. S&T received commendation from Governor Milton Shapp for completing this job ahead of schedule, which was critical to the opening of the Volkswagen Assembly Plant, New Stanton, Pa.

George expressed special gratitude to his devoted employees whose dedication and quality of workmanship contributed to S&T’s success.

In 1949 George became a resident of Masontown.

He was a member of All Saints Roman Catholic Church (now Saint Francis of Assisi) where he served on the Church Counsel and was a Sunday usher.

He was also a member of the American Association of Highway Engineers and served on the Board of Directors of First National Bank in Uniontown, Pa.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 680 CHERRY TREE LANE, Uniontown, Pa., where visitations will be on Thursday, October 8, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and a Prayer Service will be on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 9:15 a.m.

A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Francis of Assisi Parish (formerly All Saints Roman Catholic Church), 101 West Church Avenue in Masontown, Pa., with the Reverend Father James F. Petrovsky as the Celebrant.

Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.

Parish Wake Service will be held in funeral home on Thursday at 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of other tokens of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Natasha Anne Gaziano Foundation, Post Office Box 530625, Debary, FL 32765. The foundation provides services to the Cystic Fibrosis community.

The family extends a special thank-you to the compassionate staff at the Fayette Home Care/Hospice and to Lafayette Manor, and to special caregivers Vicki, MaryAnne and Judy.
