A Uniontown man was arrested Thursday for allegedly robbing his sister with a crowbar and injuring her.

Matthew Filicky, 36, of Uniontown allegedly broke a window with a crowbar at a house along Oak Hill Road Monday night where his sister and grandmother were living, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

Dawn Filicky told police he first tried to break in through her bedroom window at about 11 p.m., but went to the other side of the house when her dog bit him.

She said he broke a window in their breezeway, came inside and held up a crowbar. She told police he became angry and broke a kitchen window, according to a complaint filed in the matter.

The glass shattered and cut her ear and face, she told them. Police said cuts were visible at the interview Wednesday.

Dawn Filicky reportedly told police her brother entered the house through the kitchen window and followed her into the living room demanding money. She said she was scared, and gave him $40, according to the complaint.

She told police she did not report the crime immediately because she was scared of her brother.

Matthew Filicky is in Fayette County Prison on a $25,000 bond, according to court documents.

Charges were filed before Magisterial District Judge Wendy Dennis.

He is charged with burglary, criminal trespass, robbery, simple assault, reckless endangerment and theft.

He is also facing charges of theft by deception and identity theft filed before Magisterial District Judge Michael Metros Wednesday.
