Course offered
Penn State Extension will offer a food safety training course to help food establishments meet a state Department of Agriculture requirement to employ a supervisory employee with food safety training and accreditation in compliance with the state Food Employee Certification Act.
The course will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 5 and Nov. 12 at the Penn State Extension office in Uniontown. An exam, which attendees must pass to complete the course, will be held at 1 p.m. Nov. 12.
The course fee is $175 per person and pre-registration is required.

Trails meeting set
The Trail Town Program will hold a workshop, “Bikes, Kayaks, and More and Running a Sustainable Business,” from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Laurel Highlands Falls Area Visitors Center in Ohiopyle.
The workshop will feature panels discussions on cross promotion between trail town businesses and business marketing and funding methods.

Breeder ranked
Work Land and Cattle Co. of Uniontown registered the fifth most Angus beef cattle among Pennsylvania breeders during the 2015 fiscal year, which ended Sept. 30, according to the American Angus Association. Angus breeders nationwide registered a total of 320,362 in 2015.
