Hazel L. (Johnson) Grubb Saylor Clark
Hazel L. (Johnson) Grubb Saylor Clark, age 81, longtime resident of Point Marion, Pa., passed away on Friday, October 23, 2015 in the Cherry Tree Nursing Center following a lengthy illness.
Born in Morgantown West Virginia on Monday, December 18, 1933, she was a daughter of the now late Irving Johnson and Zella Pearle (Eddy) Johnson.
She was also predeceased by her husbands, Roy Grubb, Bill Saylor and Fleming Clark; a sister, Evelyn Bishop; four brothers, Ray Johnson, Tom Johnson, Carl Johnson and James Johnson; two children, Gerald Grubb and Vinnie Pinkney; a great-grandson, Logan Weakland; a nephew, Eric Howell; and a niece, Susie Johnson.
Surviving are the following children and their spouses: Cathy Norman (Harry) of Adah, Pa., Cindy Sines (Eddie) of Dilliner, Pa., Larry Grubb (Sandy) of Point Marion, Garry Grubb of Tower Hill, Pa., Ronald Grubb of Tower City, Pa., Kevin Grubb (Jennifer) of Lillington, North Carolina, Charles Grubb (Remy) of Reno, Nevada and J.D. Grubb of Point Marion, Pa. Hazel with blessed with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are her last sister, Ethel Howell of Sanford, North Carolina; nephews and nieces: Brian Howell of Sanford, North Carolina, Billy Johnson, Roger Johnson, Danny Johnson, Jimmy Johnson, Carl Johnson Jr., Kim Johnson, and Candice McClure all of Morgantown, West Virginia.
Friends will be received in RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, October 27 from 10 until 11:00 a.m., the hour of Service with Pastor Kathy Griffith officiating.
Interment follows in Zoar Cemetery, Laurel Point, West Virginia. The family thanks Amedisys Hospice and also Cherry Tree Nursing Center, and a special thanks to her caregiver Becky, for the loving care and attention shown to Hazel during her illness.
