Lawrence Albert “Larry” Krizner
Lawrence Albert Krizner, age 90, of Uniontown, Pensylvania peacefully passed away at Beechwood Court to eternal life with his Lord and was reunited with his beloved Elaine on Sunday, April 3, 2016.
He was born on Monday, August 31, 1925 in Brownfield, Fayette County, Pennsylvania to Andrew Krizner and Mary (Kikta) Krizner.
Larry proudly joined the United States Marine Corps and served in World War II on the South Pacific front where his unit was instrumental in the Battle of the Philippines (Liberation of the Philippines).
He was a life member of The Order of the Purple Heart, and was a member of the American Legion Post 51, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103 in Hopwood, Pa.
He was a Millwright/Welder for Anchor Hocking Glass in South Connellsville, Pa.
He filled his retirement with outdoor activities —– especially his hunting and fishing trips with his nephew Franklin.
He loved gardening, wine making and canning and in his later years, feeding and watching the birds.
The greatest joy of his life was family gatherings with good food and wine. He was the Cornerstone of all family events. His five daughters and their families are proud to carry on his legacy of love.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years Elaine (Botti) Krizner; a son-in-law, George Jeffries; three brothers, five sisters, and his parents. Lawrence was the last member of his immediate family.
Larry is survived by five daughters: Andrea Jeffries, Lauren Friebus and husband Tom, Kim Buehner and husband Charles, Roxane Pell and husband Sean, Amy Csakvary and husband Tibor; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received in the THOMAS M. DOLFI FUNERAL HOME, 136 North Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown Pa., on Wednesday, April 6, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 9 until 10 a.m. at which time a Service will be held.
Interment will follow in Mount Saint Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown, where Military Rites and Honors will be accorded by AMVETS Post 103.
Family thanks the staff of Beechwood Court and Amedisys Hospice, and Fresenius Dialysis for their care and compassion.
