Alfred E. Smith
Alfred E. Smith, age 87, of Mill Run, Pa. passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016.
He was born on Wednesday, May 23, 1928 in Homestead, Pa. son of Nile Smith and Mary (Seguida) Smith.
Alfred was a member of the Meadow Run Community Church.
He was a veteran who served in the United States Army during World War II and also Korea.
He was retired Supervisor with United States Steel, Homestead .
He was a member of the Ohiopyle Volunteer Fire Department.
He was predeceased by his parents; and a son, Nathan Leapline.
Surviving are his wife Myra (Lambie) Leapline Smith; five children: Mark Smith and wife Cathy of Pittsburgh, Pa., Matt Smith and his wife Chris of Tavares, Florida, Tina Sampey and her husband Kevin of Connellsville, Pa., Charlene Collins and her husband John of Mill Run, Pa., Megan Clark and her husband Jerry of Mill Run, Pa.; 13 grand children: Gillian Fowler, Jason Smith, Jordan Smith, Taylor Smith, Nile Smith, Nicholas Frost, Andrew Sampey, Melissa Sintich, Greta Reddington, Haley Spano, John C. Collins, Dylan Romesburg, and Bradley Clark; seven great grandchildren; and a sister, Madeline Puzio of West Homestead, Pa.
Friends will be received in DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME FARMINGTON, Pa., today 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 and Monday, April 11, 2016 from Noon until 1:00 p.m., the hour of the Service with Rev. Lee Maley and Rev. Kenneth VanSickle officiating.
Interment will follow in Sands Cemetery, Mill Run, Pa.
Ohiopyle Volunteer Fire Department will hold Service in funeral home today at 7:00 p.m.
