Alice S. (Stauffer) Russ, LPN
Alice S. (Stauffer) Russ LPN, age 91, Grantsville, Maryland has gone to be with the Lord on Friday, April 8, 2016 at The Dove House, Westminster, Maryland.
Born on Saturday, January 10, 1925, in Omaha, Nebraska she was the daughter of Albert W. Stauffer and Mildred (Williams) Stauffer Grasso.
She graduated from Technical High School in Omaha, Nebraska.
Mrs. Russ was a secretary and also an LPN, having went to Saint Francis Alvernia School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
She also taught Kindergarten class in Florida.
She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church n Grantsville, Maryland.
Alice was interested in gardening, reading and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur James Russ; her step-father, Sebastian Grasso; and one sister, Joan Grasso Heaton.
She is survived by one son, Daniel James Humphries-Russ and his wife Lynn of Sykesville, Maryland; one daughter, Darcy Jane Miller and her husband Earl of Fairchance Pennsylvania four grandsons: Ian Humphries-Russ and Logan Humphries-Russ, Eric Miller, Evan Miller; two great grandchildren: Levi Miller, Maci Miller; and two nephews, John Sloan of Beaver, Pa., and Jay Christopher Sloan of Hollywood, California.
Friends will be received at NEWMAN FUNERAL HOMES, P.A. 179 Miller Street, Grantsville, MD 21536 on Monday, April 11, 2016 from 10 until 11 a.m. Services will begin in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Lynn Humphries-Russ officiating.
Interment will be in the Oakdale Cemetery, Oakdale, Pennsylvania.
