Twyla J. Balaban
Twyla J. Balaban, age 65, of Masontown, Pa., passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016 at the Uniontown Hospital.
She was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania on Sunday, September 10 1950 daughter of Martin Balaban and Willa Mae (Carney) Balaban.
Twyla graduated from Albert Gallatin High School Class of 1968 and California University of Pennsylvania in 1972 with a degree in Early Childhood Education.
She was a devoted School Teacher in the Albert Gallatin School District for 35 years.
She was member of the PSEA, Masontown Brethren Church, the Masontown Cemetery Committee, and Business and Professional Women (BPW) in Masontown.
Twyla loved spending time with her family and friends, shopping and traveling to Hawaii with her dear sister Ginny.
She was a loving aunt to her niece, Alexa, and will be dearly missed.
Twyla was preceded by her parents; her sister Virginia ‘Ginny’ Balaban Martin and brother-in-law, Dr. John B. Martin, M.D.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving niece, Alexa Martin; sister-in-law, Pamela Martin; cousins: Paulette and Barry Foreman, Ashley and David Lahey, Joseph and Nici Foreman and Amanda and Justin Gouff; and many friends.
Family and Friends will be received today, Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the MASONTOWN BRETHREN CHURCH, 110 West Church Avenue from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., the hour of Service with Mr. Lou Diamond officiating.
Interment will follow at Masontown Cemetery.
Visitation was also held in JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, 7 River Ave., Masontown, Pa., on Monday, April 11, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m
