Evelyn D. “Abie” (Hall) Thompson
Evelyn D. ‘Abie’ (Hall) Thompson, age 83, of Chalk Hill, Pa., passed away Friday, April 8, 2016 in Mount Macrina Manor, Uniontown, Pa.
She was born on Thursday, March 9, 1933 in Confluence, Pa., a daughter of William E. Hall and Charlotta (Layfield) Hall.
Evelyn was a member of Chalk Hill United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years, was a member of the Choir, and was a member and an officer of the United Methodist Women for many years.
She was a member of Manor Lanes Women’s Bowling League.
She was the Bookkeeper with the family business, L. S. Thompson Refuse.
She was fondly known as the family baby sitter and also enjoyed feeding the birds, gardening and taking care of her cats.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband Lawrence S. ‘Baldy’ Thompson; and these brothers and sisters Grace Ream, James E. Hall, Fred Hall, Bob Hall, Dorothy Jeffries, Evanelle Lohr, Faye Mick, Peggy Matthews.
Surviving are two children: William L. Thompson and his wife Krista of Uniontown, Pa., Lisa M. Kalivoda and her husband John Thomas Kalivoda of Chalk Hill, Pa.; six grandchildren: Megan Thompson, Jesse Thompson and his wife Jessica, Jacob Thompson, Emily Thompson-Bowers and her husband Brett, Nina Kalivoda and Bailey Kalivoda; and one great grandson, Gabriel.
Friends will be received in DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, FARMINGTON, Pa., on Thursday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday, April 15, 2016 until 11:00 a.m., the hour of the Service with Rev. Terry Collins officiating.
Interment will follow in Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Chalk Hill.
