Lawrence V. “Larry” Doolittle Jr.
Lawrence V. Doolittle Jr., age 75, of Uniontown, Pa., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 after a valiant battle with cancer
He was born on Friday, August 23, 1940 in Allison, Pa. the son of Lawrence V. Doolittle Sr. and Cecelia (Vetter) Doolittle Harmon.
Larry graduated from Brownsville Area High School, Class of 1958, and attended California University of Pennsylvania.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Larry was employed by the Pennsylvania Turnpike for 33 years.
He was and avid golfer.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence V. Doolittle Sr.; and grandparents, Mary Ellen and George Doolittle and John and Veronica Vetter.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Cecelia Harman; his sister, Patricia Milroth; nephews: Mark Milroth, Matthew Milroth; nieces: Kristen Milroth, Alison Duffield; great nephews: Scott and Grant; and a great niece, Christina.
Friends will be received in STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown Pa., on Friday, April 15, from 2 to 8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 10 a.m. in Saint Mary Nativity Roman Catholic Church, 61 North Mount Vernon Avenue, with Reverend Father Peter L. Peretti as the Celebrant. All family and friends should arrive at the Church by 9:45 a.m.
Interment will follow in Mount Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown.
Parish Wake Service will be held in funeral home Friday at 3:00 p.m.
