Joseph Delano “Joe” Lewis Sr.
Joseph Delano Lewis Sr., age 78, of Uniontown, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully Friday evening, April 22, 2016 in the Uniontown Hospital.
He was born on Wednesday, May 5, 1937 in Outcrop, Fayette County, Pa., the son of the late John Lewis and Margaret (Bryant) Lewis
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Carl Lewis; and his sister, Dora Mae Beckwith.
‘Joe’ retired from Penn State Fayette The Eberly Campus where he worked in Maintenance Department.
He was a United States Veteran, serving in the Air Force.
He was a member of the Interfaith Assembly for Christ Church where he served as a Board Member and an Usher.
He enjoyed going to yard sales and local thrift stores.
He loved his fish and all of his pets, and loved to watch television, but most of all he loved his family, his wife, children, and grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Harriet Jean (Giles) Lewis; loving children: Marlowe K. Giles of Uniontown, Pennsylvania Marlin Sprouts of Uniontown, Pennsylvania Kevin M. Sprouts of Rochester, New York, Dora M. Davis of Maryland, Cheryl L. West and husband Jim, Smithfield, Pennsylvania Joseph D. Lewis Jr. and wife Rebecca of Lemont Furnace, Pennsylvania; 11 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; loving nieces, nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
Friends will be received in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 Noon, the hour of the Service.
Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum, Sylvan Heights Cemetery
