Steve Klotz
Steve Klotz, 92 years, of Dunbar, Pa. passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on April 22, 2016.
Steve was born January 26, 1924 in Continental #2, son of the late John Klotz and Katherine (Cherpak) Klotz.
He was preceded by his wife, Ellen (Gabriel) Klotz in 1984. Also by brothers: John, Frank, and Mike Klotz; sisters: Mary Klotz, Martha Klotz, Kay Klemens, Anne Lammers, and Helen Klotz.
Steve is survived by his son, Michael Klotz and wife Helen of Connellsville; daughters: Cindy Zavatchan and husband Ray of Connellsville, Nora Trenker and husband Mark of Dunbar, Paula Shanaberger and husband Jim of Lemont Furnace; grandchildren: Jason Miller and Danielle, Stephanie Miller-Wright, Stephen Klotz and wife Christian, Tara Klotz, Brooke Ellen Allen and husband Sean, Heather Kennedy and husband Christopher, Andrew Shanaberger and wife Brandi, Joel Trenker, Kayci Shanaberger and Noah Shanaberger; fifteen great grandchildren and two great-great granddaughters; brother, George Klotz and wife Dolores of Dunbar; several nieces and nephews; and very special neighbor and friend, Dave ‘Spanky’ Ruth.
He was known as ‘Pappy Lefty’ by his grandchildren.
Steve was a retired Letter Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service of Dunbar, member of St. Aloysius RC Church of Dunbar, Veteran of World War II serving in the United States Airforce, life member of the Independent Slovak Citizens Club of Connellsville, and member of the American Legion Post 146 of Dunbar.
Through life he was an avid bowler and loved to spend time at casinos.
Friends will be received Monday, April 25 from 12 pm to 9 pm in the BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville Street, Dunbar, Pa. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday at 10 am in St. Aloysius RC Church, Dunbar with Fr. Micah E. Kozoil as Celebrant.
Interment will follow at Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
Rosary recited Monday in the Funeral Home at 3:30 pm. Parish Wake Monday at 7:30 pm in the Funeral Home.
