Mary Bernice Jackson Montgomery
Mary Bernice Jackson Montgomery, 85, of Redford, Michigan, and formerly of Masontown, Pa., passed away Friday, April 22, 2016 at Beaumont Hospital (formerly Botsford Hospital), Farmington Hills, Michigan.
She was born in Masontown, Pa. on December 18, 1930, the daughter of Alfonso and Julia Mae (Goode) Jackson.
She attended Nursing School in Pittsburgh, Pa. and later moved to Michigan where she was employed as a factory worker at Chrysler Corporation.
Mary was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church, Detroit, Mich., a Daughter of The Eastern Star, Masonic Lodge Golden Circle and an Adult Day Care Advisor (PACE).
In addition to her parents, she was prede-ceased by her husband, Clyde Thomas Mont-gomery, Sr. and sister, Mildred Young.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Jacqueline McGruder,Detroit, Mich, Debra Montgomery -Hughes and husband William of Detroit, Mich. Stephanie Markhan of Detroit, Mich.; Carol Montgomery of Southfield, Mich.; Clyde Montgomery, Jr. of Detroit, Mich.; 16 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sisters: Geraldine Breaux and Dorothy Jackson both of Masontown, Pa.
Family and friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH, JR. FUNERAL HOME, 7 River Avenue, Masontown, Pa. on Tuesday, May 5, 2016 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the hour of service in the Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend James Thomas officiating.
