Armed robbery reported at Hopwood convenience store

Two men reportedly robbed the Circle K convenience store in Hopwood at about 2 a.m. Thursday after demanding cash and Newport cigarettes.

The clerk told police one of the men pointed a silver handgun at him during the robbery.

He said the men were black, wearing dark clothes and covering their faces with hoods and masks, police said.

The two fled on foot along Hopwood-Fairchance Road toward Hopwood, according to police.

State police are investigating.
