Betty J. “Gram Woody” (Warnick) Lowry
Betty J. (Warnick) ‘Gram Woody’ Lowry, age 89, of Dunbar, Pa., passed away peacefully on Monday, August 29, 2016 at home with her family by her side.
She was born in Martin, Fayette County, Pa., on December 1, 1926 daughter of William Warnick and Iva Mae (Douglas) Warnick.
She was a homemaker and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, bowling yard sales, and cake decorating in her younger years.
Betty liked reading and discussing the Bible and politics. She was of the Protestant faith.
Surviving are children: Donnie Lowry and wife Marilyn, Bonnie Zurick and husband John ‘Bud’, Sherry Speeney and husband Gary, Tammy Renzi and husband Rich, and Delmar Lowry and wife Pam; grandchildren: Rachelle Frick and husband John, Andy Lowry and wife Bridgette, Renee Zurick, John Zurick III and wife Melissa, Lona McCombie and husband Robert, Jay Speeney and wife Nicole, Rinty Renzi and wife Victoria, Ryan Renzi, Gina Miller and husband Chris, Julie Swink and husband Jake, and Kirk Kuhta and wife Terri; great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Bailey and Jacob Frick, Payton and Laney Lowry, Gabriella Zurick, Ian and Madison McCombie, Sydni Speeney, Tristin Renzi, Gianna, Kynzlee and Christian Miller, Niko Swink, and Willow Kuhta; sister, Priscilla Lankey and niece Diana Homer; and several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 59 years, Donald ‘Woody’ Lowry; daughter, Betty Jean; granddaughter, Kristie Lowry; brothers, Raymond Warnick, Patrick Warnick, and Stanley Daugherty; sisters, Thelma ‘Dot’ Laya, Marie Kolat, Hazel Warnick, Ruth Vermeulen and Mary Renforth.
Friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m in BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville Street, Dunbar, Pa.
Services will be in the Funeral Home on Friday, September 2, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Lee Maley officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mount Auburn Cemetery in Dunbar, Pa.
