An Avella man is facing criminal charges after he allegedly asked a 13-year-old Rostraver Township girl to send naked pictures during a sexually charged conversation.

Township police charged Perry Michael Hamilton, 25, with possession of child pornography, sexual abuse of a minor through contact or communication and corruption of minors. Police said during a forensic analysis of the electronic tablet the teen was using and Hamilton’s phone, they found topless photos the teen sent to Hamilton, and a photograph of Hamilton’s genitalia that he sent to the girl.

Police said the teen’s younger sister alerted their grandmother to the contact, which occurred Oct. 29 and 30.

In a criminal complaint, police said they recovered the tablet the teen was using in the garbage can outside of a Belle Vernon grocery story.

The complaint detailed explicit sexual conversation between Hamilton and the teen, as well as their plans to meet.

Hamilton was interviewed by police on Nov. 10, and reportedly told authorities that he had contact with women on the social network meetme.com, but denied having any contact with minors.

Hamilton was charged before Magisterial District Judge Charles M. Christner, and placed in Westmoreland County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bond.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 12.
