A Monessen man was sentenced to up to 24 months in prison for stabbing a man multiple times in Pershing Court in June.

A Fayette County judge ordered Irvin Kili Green Jr., 20, to serve a minimum of nine months for stabbing Avery Crenshaw in the face, lower back, thigh and arm with an eight-inch knife after chasing him around the housing complex, ordering him to take off his boots and empty his pockets.

Crenshaw was flown to a trauma center by a medical helicopter. Police said he lost a large amount of blood.

Green pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, while prosecutors agreed not to pursue 10 other charges, including attempted homicide, robbery, theft by unlawful taking and simple assault.

He pleaded no contest to charges of recklessly endangering another person and a separate count of simple assault.

Green, who was represented by Attorney Lyle L. Dresbold, will receive credit for time served since June 11.

Green had nothing to say prior to his sentencing.

Fayette County Assistant District Attorney G.T. George added that there is $35 in restitution to be paid to Crenshaw, which Fayette County Senior Judge Gerald Solomon added to the sentencing.
