Steve C. Hartsek
Steve C. Hartsek, age 87, of Bethelboro, Pa. passed away peacefully on Friday, November 25, 2016.
He was born on July 5, 1929 in Continental One, Fayette County, Pa., the son of John Hartsek and Joanna (Tibor) Hartsek.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 42 years until her death, Mary Louise (Mrosko) Hartsek son, Kenneth S. Hartsek; brothers and sisters: John III, Mary Laschok, Joseph, Margaret Colabianchi, Barbara McKulka, Anthony, and Michael.
Steve was a United States Veteran serving in the Army as a Vehicle Mechanic in the Korean War.
He was a member of Veterans’ organizations and social clubs.
He was assistant Cub Scout leader of Pack 566 in Cleveland, Ohio, and received several accolades from the Boy Scout Troop 566.
He was Supervisor at Steel Scaffolding from 1971 to 1985.
He was a Caterer from 1971 to 1995. Mary Louise Mrosko Hartsek, Steve and two of their sons, Rob and John, took over Mrosko Catering in 1987 and renamed it Hartsek Family Catering hoping to maintain the excellence that Ann Korelko Mrosko started in 1937. Mrosko Catering had been servicing catered events in the Fayette County and surrounding areas for 50 years and has since been maintained as Hartsek Family Catering.
Steve attended South Union High School.
He was an Altar Boy at Saint Mary (Nativity) Church, Uniontown, Pa.
Steve lovingly took care of Mary Louise during her illness.
He is survived by his wife, Victoria D. (Gribble) Hartsek; daughter, Cheryl A. Dagy and husband Tim, daughter-in-law, Debora Hartsek; son, John J. Hartsek and wife Elsie; son, Robert S. Hartsek and wife Jennifer; grandchildren: Sarah Dagy Holt and husband Sean, Brian Dagy, Jordyn Hartsek, Haley Hartsek, Lauren Hartsek, Emily Hartsek, Tyler Hartsek, Allison Hartsek, Justin Hartsek: great-grand daughter, Josie Hartsek; step-children: Erika Sampey, Angela Metros Mato and husband Mike, and Michael Metros and Melanie; step-grand children: Audrey Mato, Alex Metros, and Michaela Metros; sister, Joann Duritsky of Uniontown, Pa.: loving nieces and nephews; and many friends, especially his faithful friend, Tucker.
Friends and Family are invited to a Memorial Service in Steve’s honor today, December 6, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at the AMVETS Post 103, Hopwood, Pa.
