Steve A. Stepanik Sr., 90, a lifelong resident of Oliver, Pa., passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania on August 25, 1926 the son of Frank and Mary (Anthony) Stepanik.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son Robert Stepanik; siblings, Frank Stepanik Jr., Joseph Stepanik, Ann David, Mary Pennington, Frances Hanzes, and Helen Stepanik.

Steve was a lifelong member of Saint Mary Nativity Roman Catholic Church.

He was a Coal Miner retired from Isabella Mine and Coke Works in Luzerne Township and a member of United Mine Workers of America.

During World War II,

Steve proudly served his country in the United States Army at the rank of Sergeant.

Steve was a quiet man most remembered for his hard work ethic, big strong hands, and love of deer hunting, which he shared with his sons and grandsons.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 67 years, Magdalene (Shuster) Stepanik; their children: Steve A. Stepanik Jr., Donald Stepanik and wife Janice, Janet Kaufold and husband Roger, Gerald Stepanik, Paul Stepanik and wife Judy, John Stepanik and wife Debbie, and Marlene Kolosky; 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and three great-greatgrandchildren brothers: Andrew Stepanik and Michael Stepanik and wife Theresa; and many nieces and nephews and their families.

Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pennsylvania on Friday, December 16, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, December 17, until 9:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

The Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, 61 North Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., with Rev. Father Peter L. Peretti as the Celebrant.

Interment will be held in Saint Mary (Nativity) Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa., where Full Military Rites and Honors will be accorded by the General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103.

The Parish Wake Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 3:00 p.m.
