Daniel L. Chew, United States Marine Corps Veteran – Korean Conflict
Daniel L. Chew, age 87, of Hiller, Pa., died on Wednesday December 14 2016 at his home.
He was born on December 7, 1929 in Washington, Pa., to Robert and Rebecca (McNilis) Chew.
He was a member of The Historic Church of Saint Peter in Brownsville, Pa.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the United States Marine Corps.
He retired from Hillman Barge Company.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Angeline (DeLuca) Chew; three children: Daniel Chew of Hagerstown, Maryland, Robert Chew of Hiller, Pa., Margaret Rosemeier and husband Raymond of Brownsville, Pa.; granddaughter, Christy Beckwith and husband Aaron of Hagerstown, Maryland; and two great grandchildren: Gina and Garrett Beckwith.
He was predeceased by his parents and a brother Robert ‘Jack’ Chew.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. where a Prayer Service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in The Historic Church of Saint Peter in Brownsville with the Rev. Father Timothy J. Kruthaupt as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Bier Hill, Pa., with Full Military Rites and Honors accorded by American Legion Posts 940, 295, 275 and 838.
