Prisoner charged with spitting on Uniontown Hospital nurse

An inmate at the State Correctional Institute at Fayette was charged with aggravated assault for allegedly spitting on a nurse at Uniontown Hospital.

Damon Stanley, 18, allegedly attempted to remove a catheter and became violent as a patient in October. A nurse told hospital police that he was attempting to stop Stanley from removing the catheter when Stanley spat in his face.

His preliminary arraignment is set for 1:10 p.m. Jan. 24 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Metros.
