Boy allegedly fires shot at Uniontown man

Uniontown City Police said that a 10-year-old juvenile allegedly shot at a Uniontown man around 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning at 135 Searight Avenue in Uniontown.

Police report that Gary Michaux opened the vehicle door for the boy, who punched him, pulled out a .40-caliber semiautomatic handgun and allegedly shot once at Michaux, missing him. Michaux restrained the boy until police arrived.

According to city police, the boy has been taken into juvenile custody. Lt. Kolencik reports that the office of the District Attorney has advised charging the boy with criminal attempt homicide, two charges of aggravated assault, a charge of simple assault, and two firearm violations.
