Edward “Tuck” Rohrer age 88, Brownsville, Pa., passed away on Friday, December 23, 2016.

He was born Friday, January 6, 1928 in Brownsville, Pa., the son of Wallace and Helen (Beasley) Rohrer.

After graduating from Brownsville High School, Edward served in World War II with the United States Army Air Force in Occupation Forces.

Tuck was very involved in his community.

He served as a Volunteer Fireman and past Chief of the South Brownsville Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 along with being involved with many committees with in the department. Also, he was past President of the Fayette County Fireman’s Association and the Southwestern Fire Chiefs and Assistant Fire Chiefs Association.

Tuck served as a Brownsville Little League Umpire, President of Midget League Football, and as a Brownsville Borough Councilman.

He was a member of BYMC, BPOE, American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the First Christian Church in Brownsville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wallace D. Jr., Ardene, and Howard; sister, Margaret Crampe.

He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 64 years, Ellen (Scott) Rohrer; four children: JoEllen R. Noll and husband Joseph, Scott T. Rohrer and wife Lori, Wallace E. Rohrer and Wendy R. Rankin; three grandchildren: Jeanette Rankin and partner Laken Stogner, Zachary T. Rohrer, Garrett B. Rohrer; great grandson, Ezra J. Rohrer; sister, Bernice Columbia and husband Dave; many nieces, nephews, friends.

Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, Pa., today, Tuesday, December 27, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home. Reverend Paul Sandusky will officiate.

Entombment follows in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at LaFayette Memorial Park,Brier Hill

One of Tuck’s wishes was for a nice fire apparatus procession, so ALL companies are welcome to attend. Full Fire Department Honors will take place at Tuck’s request also. For more information or questions, please contact funeral home at 724-785-4700.

The South Brownsville Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 will hold a Fireman’s Service in the funeral home this evening at 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the South Brownsville Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 at 530 Water Street, or the First Christian Church, 512 Second Street, both Brownsville, PA 15417.

Visitation was also held Monday, December 26, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m
