Jason Edward Hammack, 38, of Uniontown, Pennsylvania formerly of Morgantown, West Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at his home.

The son of Carlton ‘Bud’ and Joyce (Hertzog) Hammack of Morgantown, he was born January 20, 1978 in Morgantown.

Jason graduated from University High School and the Culinary Arts program at MTEC.

He was employed at the Uniontown Country Club.

Jason was a wonderful cook and had won the Best Chef in Morgantown two years in a row.

In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf.

Most of all, Jason was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his family and being involved with his children in everything that they did.

Jason was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Edward and Edith Hertzog; paternal grandfather, Wilburn Hammack; a dear aunt, Susan Cale; and a cousin, Brian Cale.

Jason is survived by his loving wife, Jessica Hammack; three daughters Kira Mahoney, Jordan Hammack and Josslyn Hammack; a son, Jayce Hammack; two stepchildren: Jamison Sizemore and Jacquelyn Sizemore; a sister, Carla Hammack and her companion Rod Gallagher; a brother and his wife, Bill and Lori Hammack; his paternal grandmother, Georgia Hammack; a special aunt, Vera Hertzog; many other wonderful aunts, uncles, cousins; five nephews: Kobe, Jaeden, Khalil, Gabriel, Michael; a niece, Poppy; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Randy and Debbie Harvey. Also surviving are his many friends and coworkers from the Country Club.

Family and friends will be received at the FRED L. JENKINS FUNERAL HOME, 10 South High Street, Morgantown, WV 26501 304.296.6446 Wednesday from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. and again on Thursday, December 29, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Service with Rev. David Spence officiating.

Burial will follow at the Nicholson Chapel Cemetery, Morgantown.
