James Francis Keefer
James Francis Keefer, age 87, of Hopwood, Pa. passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, December 27, 2016.
He was born December 30, 1928 in Washington, Pa., son of James E. and Grace (Harper) Keefer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Dr. Gary Keefer; his sister, Janet Croushore.
James was a life member of the Third Presbyterian Church.
He worked for 43½ years at Bell Telephone Company of PA and then at Verizon.
He was an avid golfer and was a member of the 3rd Press Golf League, and the Senior League at Duck Hollow and also at Springdale.
He was a member of the Masons 228.
He loved hunting and fishing and was an avid tennis player.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Jean (Herring) Keefer; his loving son, Ronald Keefer and wife Suzanne of Fort Hill, Pa.; grand children: Brian and wife Patti, Aaron and wife Christina, Mindy and husband Benjamin, Adam and wife Amber, Abby, and Madox; step granddaughter, Jessica Johnston; five great grandchildren; other relatives; many friends.
Friends will be received in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., on Friday, December 30, 2016 from 2 to 6 p.m. Funeral Services will begin at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Dave Watson officiating.
Interment will be private for the family.
