Ronald A. Gabriel
Ronald A. Gabriel, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2016.
He was born on Thursday, August 15, 1940 the son of Armenia (Rossi) Gabriel and Phillip Gabriel in Fairbank, Pennsylvania.
Ron graduated from Redstone High School, Class of 1959.
He was a former member of the 429th Engineer Battalion of the United States Army Reserve.
He worked in construction and owned several restaurants in Irwin, Pennsylvania and Daytona, Florida and, since 2000 until his illness, was an owner and operator of Rossi’s Italian Villa Restaurant on Old Route 51, Smock, Pa.
He enjoyed cooking, the children, sports, talking, and Whiskey, the cat he rescued.
He was preceded by his parents; grand parents, Catherine and Dominic Rossi; brother-in-law, Joseph S. Kikta; and in-laws, Caroline and James Carbonara.
Surviving are his loving wife of 54 years, Nancy (Carbonara) Gabriel; a son, Ronald James Gabriel and wife Janet of Greensburg, Pa.; granddaughters: Lauren Gabriel of Pittsburgh, Pa., Chelsea Pirozzi of Delmont, Pa., Nicole and Joe Schmidt of Export, Pa.; great grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Riley, Ashlynn and Carter; a sister, Connie Kikta; sister-in-law, Judy Carbonara; a niece, Cathy (Paul) Kania; two nephews: Joe (Jessica) Kikta and Patrick (Melanie) Shuma; and many great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be said on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at SAINT JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH, 497 Athena Drive, Delmont, PA 15626 with Rev. Father Joseph E. Bonafed as the Celebrant
