Bud Emerson Burnworth
Bud Emerson Burnworth, age 76, of Smithfield, Pa., died on Monday, January 11, 2016 with his loving family by his side.
He was born on Thursday, January 26, 1939 in Mill Run, Pa., the son of Roy Lemuel Burnworth and Margaret Rosetta (Johnson) Burnworth.
Bud was a retired Coal Miner and also retired from the Albert Gallatin School District M a i n t e n a n c e Department.
He was a former owner of B & R Used Cars in Point Marion, Pa.
He loved and enjoyed Country and Blue Grass Music, Tractors and Tractor Auctions, Trains, and especially spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; eight siblings, James “Bird”, John, Eddie, Calvin, Nelson, Annie, Esther, Doris; son, Bud Emerson Burnworth Jr.; daughter, Denise Belanger.
He was the last surviving member of his parents’ immediate family.
Surviving are his loving family: his wife of 47 years, Eileen (Matlick) Burnworth; children: J e r r y Burnworth and his wife Kelly of Magnolia, Ohio, Anna Mae Belanger and her husband Jeff of Bruceton Mills, West Virginia, T e d d y Brunworth and his wife Sharen of Canton, Ohio, Shirley Guthrie and her husband James “Bo” of Fairchance, Pa., and Matthew Burnworth and his wife Julie of Carrollton, Ohio; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and best friend, Sonny Pyles of Bruceton Mills, West Virginia.
The family will greet friends and family in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday, January 15, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jim Handschumaker officiating.
Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa
