Geraldine (Manchas) Burkholder, age 74, of McClellandtown, Pa., passed away on Monday, January 11, 2016 at her home with the entire ‘Burkholder Compound’ by her side.

She was born in Palmer, Fayette County, Pa., Tuesday, September 9, 1941 daughter of John Leonard Manchas and Odessa (Lilley) Manchas.

Geraldine was a member of the McClellandtown United Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon and an Elder for many years.

She was also a member of the Pal’s Club Ladies Auxiliary, Masontown Pa

‘Nanny Pants’ was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Her passion was caregiving and spending time with her loved ones.

She was a wonderful wife and mother and will be sadly missed by all.

She was predeceased by her parents; sisters, Catherine Bartuch, Shirley Beck and Elsie McCann; and brother, Ronald Manchas.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband William L. Burkholder; daughters: Lois (Jeff) Dupont of McClellandtown, Pa., Judy (Dave) Angelo of McClellandtown, Pa., Kim Cavaliere of McClellandtown, Pa., Billie Jo Burkholder of Uniontown, Pa., and Deana (Randy) Wilson of McClellandtown, Pa.; nine grandchildren: Amanda, Ashley, Megan, Davon, Tanner, Trey, Lily, Laney and Lucas; three greatgrandchildren Jayse, Bryer and Sophia; her twin brother, Gerald Manchas of Ohio and brother William Manchas of Arizona.

The family thanks Dr. David M. Murello and the Uniontown Hospital Staff, Amedisys Hospice and Staff — especially Lisa Jones and Vicki Wesolowsky.

Family and Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, Seven River Avenue, Masontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m

Viewing will continue on Friday, January 15, at McCLELLANDTOWN U N I T E D PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 292 Springer Road, McClellandtown, Pa., from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., the hour of the Service with Pastor Lee McDermott officiating.

Private interment will be in the Church Hill C e m e t e r y, McClellandtown, Pa.

Visitation was also held on Wednesday, January 13 from 4 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of other tokens of sympathy, the family requests donations be made to McClellandtown United Presbyterian Church, Route 21, Post Office Box 66, McClellandtown, PA 15458.

Pal’s Ladies Auxiliary will hold a Service in the Funeral Home today (Thursday) at 7:00 p.m.
