John M. Hakulin
John M. Hakulin, age 86, of Monessen, Pa., died Wednesday January 13, 2016 at 5:10 p.m. at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Jefferson Hills, Pa.
He was born on Tuesday, August 27, 1929 in Monessen, Pa., the son of Steven Hakulin and Anna (Zeets) Hakulin.
A lifelong resident of Monessen, Mr. Hakulin was a member of Saint John the Divine Orthodox Church.
He was a retired Pump House Attendant from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel’s Monessen Plant.
He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard.
John was a Licensed Funeral Director for the former Stephen D. Yoney Sr. Funeral Home, Monessen.
He was an avid reader and enjoyed keeping up on current events.
He had a love for animals — especially the company of his dog, Mikey, and cats, Tutu and Tommy.
He is survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, George Hakulin, Steve Hakulin, Michael Hakulin; and two sisters, Anna Fedarko and Mary Zazac.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME &Amp; CREMATIONS, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon, PA 15012 (724.929.6183).
Relatives and Friends will gather on Monday, January 18, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the SAINT JOHN THE DIVINE ORTHODOX CHURCH, 42 McKee Avenue, Monessen, for Funeral Services with the Very Reverend Father Samuel Smolcic officiating.
Interment will take place in Grandview Cemetery, 1528 Leeds Avenue, Monessen.
Parastas Services will be held in the Funeral Home on Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m.
