William D. Blaney of Orangeville, Ohio passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Saint Joseph Health Center in Warren, Ohio.

He was born in Brownfield Pennsylvania on Monday, January 2, 1939 the son of Joseph and Jean (Baker) Blaney.

William was a United States Air Force veteran, serving in Guam from 1956 to 1960.

After working 30 years, he retired from Copperweld Steel in Warren, Ohio as a Furnace Operator.

He was a former member of the Howland Athletic Club.

He enjoyed both hunting and fishing, being at his camp in Pennsylvania and being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.

William is survived by his wife, Bernadette Angeline Blaney, whom he married on Saturday, August 1, 1959 in Fairchance Pennsylvania three sons: Bill Blaney Jr. of Orangeville, Ohio, Bob (Barb) Blaney of Champion, Ohio and Barry (Diane) Blaney of Burghill, Ohio; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one sister, Nikki (Hugh) Baker of Brownfield, Pennsylvania; and one brother, Roger (Jeannie) Blaney of Brownfield, Pennsylvania.

A Memorial Service will be held for William on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at 12 Noon at the ORANGEVILLE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 7850 Brockway-Sharon Road, Orangeville, OH 44453. Rev. Gordon Ferguson will officiate.
