Execution set for Fayette man in death of Greene Co. girl
The notice of execution was signed today for a Fayette County man man convicted of raping and killing a 12-year-old girl in Greene County in 2006.
Department of Corrections Secretary John Wetzel signed notices of execution for three inmates, including Jeffrey Martin, 57, formerly of New Geneva. Martin was convicted of strangling 12-year-old Gabrielle Bechen in a remote area of Dunkard Township in Greene County. She had been riding an all-terrain vehicle on a farm near her home when she encountered Martin, who was a hired hand on the farm.
Martin’s execution is scheduled for March 16, 2016.
