Lorraine Floyd
Lorraine Floyd, age 80, was born on Friday, April 26, 1935 in Wheeler, Fayette County, Pennsylvania a beloved daughter of James Grady and Ester Craggette. She departed this life from Fayetteville, North Carolina to live eternally with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 23, 2016.
Lorraine was a faithful member of the Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Monessen, Pa., serving God and her community well.
She committed random acts of kindness and conveyed a genuine interest in people and their well-being.
She will be forever remembered for her strength, humility, kindness and dedication to helping others.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Surena Floyd; a brother, James Watson; a sister, Harriette Grady; her grandparents, Guardie and Mildred Craggette; four brothers-in-law, Wilbur Floyd Sr., George Francis Floyd, Robert Floyd Sr., and Samuel Hill Sr.; and three sisters-in-law, Melissa Hill, Josephine Floyd, and Bertha Floyd.
Left to treasure her memories are her husband of fifty-eight years, Deacon James R. Floyd Sr.; one son, James R. Floyd Jr. of Monessen, Pa.; two daughters: Rosena (Christopher) Mitchell of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Janet De La Cruz of New Jersey; one sister, Ethel Gene (Arthur) Clayton of West Palm Beach, Florida; one brother-in-law, the Rev. Thomas H. (Willie Mae) Floyd of Monessen, Pa.; two sisters-in-law: Deacon Mary Fullwood of Silver Spring, Maryland, and Loretta Floyd of Monessen, Pa.; grand children: Kristy, Rebecca Randolph Jr., Jose and wife Fernando, Quinte, James Michael; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the MOUNT CALVARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 230 Reed Avenue, Monessen, PA 15062.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church.
Interment will take place at the Mon Valley Memorial Park, 49 Second Street Extension, Donora, Pa.
