By The 2 min read

A 26-year-old Perryopolis woman was arrested after she allegedly stabbed her father three times early Thursday.

Toni Leigh Vargo is facing aggravated assault and other charges for the alleged stabbing.

Her father, Thomas Vargo, was flown to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, according to the complaint.

Perryopolis patrolman Adam Russell arrived at the scene at about 12:39 a.m. and met Vargo at the residence at 522 Liberty St., according to the affidavit. State police assisted at the scene.

Russell wrote in the complaint that Toni Vargo said her brother was “trying to keep her father on the ground and not attack them any more.” She allegedly told police she stabbed her father.

Russell said he found her brother, Samuel Vargo, still pinning their father to the ground in the living room. Samuel Vargo was covered in blood and Thomas Vargo had three puncture wounds on his left side and a slash on his back, according to the affidavit.

The alleged weapon was a knife with a three- to four-inch blade and a black para-cord rope around the handle.

Toni Vargo allegedly told police she had “a few drinks tonight,” Russell wrote.

The three told police the incident started as a verbal argument, according to the affidavit.

She is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and reckless endangerment, according to court documents.

She was arraigned before on-call Magisterial District Judge Ronald Haggerty Jr. on a $10,000 bond. She was unable to post bail.
