UPDATE: Wife allegedly shot Fayette Commissioner, police said

State police and emergency services respond to an apparent shooting early Sunday at a South Union Township residence.

The Fayette County Commission Chairman was shot by his wife in their home early Sunday morning in South Union Township.

Deanna Vicites, 47, shot Vincent Vicites, 56, at their home in South Union Township, police said.

Police responded to the call of a man being shot at 1:01 a.m. Sunday. Police said Vicites suffered a gunshot wound to the neck.

Vicites is listed in stable condition and is being treated at Ruby Memorial Hospital in West Virginia, said District Attorney Richard Bower.

According to state police Deanna Vicites is being charged with criminal attempt homicide and other assault related and firearm charges.

Pennsylvania State police, Uniontown Police, and Fayette EMS were at the scene.
