David E. Colebank Sr.
David E. Colebank Sr., age 72, Point Marion, Pa. went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 with his loving family at his side.
Born on Wednesday, December 1, 1943 in Point Marion, Pa., he was the son of the now late Edward E. Colebank and Opal (Lipscomb) Colebank.
A 1961 graduate of Albert Gallatin High School, he served briefly in the United States Navy.
He then worked for Richard Rankin’s Volkswagen of Bethesda (VOB), Maryland before returning back to Point Marion to manage his own Auto Repair Shop in Nilan, Pa., for 20 years.
Later, he worked for Point Marion Ford for 12 years until his retirement in 2008.
He was a faithful member of Redeemed Baptist Church. All who knew him knew he loved life and lived for Christ. What an inspiration he was, and his passion for Christ shined through in everything he did!
Dave enjoyed hunting and fishing and always had a project or two at a time.
He loved spending time with grandchildren, —- and especially during trout season.
Left to cherish his memory are his best friend and wife of 50 years, Bonnie Jo (Tedesco) Colebank. They were blessed with four children: Robin Sue (Colebank) McClain, who passed away in 1986, Marsha G. Fowler, David E. Jr. and Martha Colebank, and Lisa M. and Wally Mays III, with whom he resided and who cared for him for the past four years.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Jason Colebank, Chuckie McClain and his wife Stephanie, Maria Mays and her fiancé Mike Gluvna, David Colebank III, Alysha M. Colebank, William E. Fowler, Shelby S. Fowler, Wally Mays IV and Seth Cooper Mays; two step grand children: T. J. Fowler and Ashley Fowler; seven great grand children; brother Edward Colebank and wife Betty, a sister, Judy Bogozi and husband Joe; his furry little friend ‘Lulu; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. All will dearly miss him.
Deceased, in addition to his parents and his daughter, are his step-father, Ed Porter;a brother in infancy; and a sister-in-law, Sharon (Tedesco) Kirk.
The family will receive friends in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, Pa., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, March 4, 2016 from 10 until 11:00 a.m., the hour of Service with his Pastor, Rev. French I. Jenkins, officiating.
Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion, Pa.
