The Reverend William J. Roberts
The Reverend William J. Roberts, age 83, of Carmichaels, Pa., went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, March 4, 2016.
He was born on Saturday, May 14, 1932 in Norfolk, Virginia son of Raymond A. Roberts and Florence (Eschbach) Roberts.
Reverend Roberts pastored churches in Hewlett, New York, Stamford, Connecticut, Oakley, Michigan, Glassboro, New Jersey, Lynbrook, New York and locally at First Baptist Church, Fairchance, Pa., and Woodbridge Union Church in Smithfield, Pa.
He also served as a Director at the Tristate Bible Conference in Montague, New Jersey.
He was predeceased by his parents; and siblings, M. Louise Wagner, Harry James Roberts, Raymond A. Roberts Jr. and Helen Roberts Donato.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth M. “Bettie” (Williams) Roberts; children: Donna Ruth Roberts, Diane Louise Donato and her husband Mark, Karen Elizabeth Roberts, The Reverend Kevin William Roberts and wife Debbie, Brian Joseph Roberts, Brent Michael Roberts and wife Christa, and Denise Alexis Shaw and husband Chris; twelve grandchildren; one great grandchild; sister, Carol Donato and her husband Leonard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will greet friends and family in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m and on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 until 10:00 a.m., the hour of Service with his son The Reverend Kevin Roberts officiating
