Michael “Mike” Kuritz
Michael Kuritz, age 88 passed away at his residence in Hermitage, Lackawannock Township Mercer County, Pa., on Tuesday, March 8, 2016.
He was born in Dearth, Menallen Township, Fayette County, Pa., on Saturday, January 21, 1928 the son of George Kuritz and Mary Kuritz.
‘Mike’ attended the elementary school in Keisterville, Pa.
Michael was a United States Army Veteran.
‘Mike’ was a Truck Driver his whole life and a member of the Teamsters Union.
He was member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Mercer.
Mike was a big outdoor sportsman and enjoyed all types of hunting.
Michael married Betty (McKulka) on Friday, April 8, 1949. She died Tuesday, June 5, 2007.
Also deceased are his parents; brothers, John Kuritz, Steve Kuritz and Joseph Kuritz; sisters, Anna Simonetti, Pauline Pegg, Margaret Litton.
Survivors include two sons: Donald Kuritz and his wife Becky of Washington, Pa., and Richard Kuritz and his wife Rhonda, Hermitage, Pa.; one daughter, Trudy Corso and her husband Rick of Washington, Pa.; seven grandchildren: Dawn Kuritz Hofherr and her husband Mike, Danielle Kuritz Hunt and her husband Dave, Requel Kuritz Rubeo and hr husband Mike, Sadie Kuritz Correll and her husband Andrew, Shannon Kuritz, Rick Corso, Robin Corso Korin and her husband Mike; five great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 3126 Main Street, West Middlesex, PA (724.528.3222) on Friday March 11 from 4 to 8 p.m
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 100 Penn Avenue, Mercer, PA 16137 with the Reverend Father James Kennelley, Pastor, as the Celebrant.
Burial will in Mount Washington Cemetery, Jefferson Township, Mercer County, Pa.
