Police looking for Connellsville bank robber
Police are looking for a man who allegedly robbed a Connellsville bank with a gun and escaped with more than $1,000.
Connellsville police Sgt. John James said police responded to Glass Cap Federal Credit Union on Pittsburgh Street at 11:19 p.m. for a hold-up alarm.
He said a man with a mask covering the lower part of his face walked up to the counter and tapped a handgun on the counter.
“His words were, ‘Don’t hit any buttons,'” James said. “Then he stated to her, ‘Give me all you have.'”
The man allegedly fled on foot with $1,324.
James said he is believed to be white man with glasses, about 6-feet tall. He was wearing a mask, gloves, blue jeans and had a black hooded sweatshirt pulled over his head.
“It’s extremely recommended that if somebody were to know about this actor or his whereabouts, not to confront him. He would be considered armed and dangerous,” James said.
He asked anyone with information to contact Connellsville police at (724) 628-2501 or Fayette 911 at (724) 430-9114.
State police and the FBI are assisting in the investigation.
