Victoria A. (Burgess) Bittner
Victoria A. (Burgess) Bittner, age 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, March 15, 2016 in her home in Uniontown, Pennsylvania
She was born on Saturday, December 3, 1932 in Dearth, Fayette County, Pa., daughter of the late Charles Burgess and Anna (Horvath) Burgess.
In addition to her parents, Victoria was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry L. Bittner Jr.; brothers and sisters, Charles Burgess, Robert Burgess, Richard Burgess, Dolores Heilman, and Claudette Murray.
Victoria was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church.
She was very active in Catholic charities and school activities, including the Laurel Highlands Band Boosters
She was also involved for many years with the Brownies and Girl Scouts
She was a 1950 graduate of the former North Union High School
She loved gardening and, most of all loved, spending time with her grandchildren. Family was the most important thing to her.
She is survived by her loving and devoted children: Henry L. Bittner III and his wife Patricia of Uniontown, Pa., Cindy L. Lowe and her husband Russell of Fairchance, Pa., Sharon L. “Sherri” Bittner of Uniontown, Pa.; grand children: Michael Bittner and his wife Jaime, Beth Redding, Jacob Lowe, Shelby Mills, Dwayne “Keebie” Mills, and Sara Mills; great grand children: Sabrina McMillen, Maria Bittner, Mikey Bittner, Nicholas and Jenna Redding, and Nathan Redding; brothers and sisters: Patti Black and husband Gene of Smithfield, Pa., Tom Burgess and wife Debbie of Uniontown, Pa; sisters-in-law, Aileen Burgess of Uniontown and Kathy Burgess of Uniontown; many loving nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
Friends will be received in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., Sunday, March 20, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be said on Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. in Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 50 Jefferson Street. Please go directly to the Church.
Interment will follow in the Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
