Samuel Ammirato
Samuel Ammirato, age 94, of Camp Hill, Pa., formerly of Uniontown, Pa., passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016 in the Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle, Pa.
Sam was born in Calabria, Italy, the son of Frank Ammirato and Carolina (Catanzariti) Ammirato.
He graduated from Uniontown High School, Class of 1940.
He was a World War II United States Army Air Corps veteran.
Sam was a retired Right of Way Inspector for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Uniontown office.
He was a member of Saint Theresa Catholic Church in New Cumberland.
He was a proficiemt woodworker.
Sam was the widower of Roselie (Albano) Ammirato, and is survived by his children: Dr. Samuel P. Ammirato of Denver, Colorado and Carol Smore and her husband Thomas of New Cumberland, Pa.; two grandchildren: Megan Busby and her husband Brian and Greg Smore and his wife Katherine; and two great granddaughters: Lauren Busby and Caroline Smore.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. in Saint Theresa Catholic Church, 1300 Bridge Street, New Cumberland, Pa.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday in the PARTHEMORE FUNERAL HOME &Amp; CREMATION SERVICES, 1303 Bridge Street, New Cumberland, PA 17070 (717.774.7721)
Burial will be in Sylvan Heights Cemetery Uniontown, Pennsylvania
