Roy E. Lowery, age 65, Connellsville, Pa., died Sunday, May 8, 2016 at the UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.

He was born on Saturday, July 15, 1950 in Dunbar, Pennsylvania son of Charles Lowery and Emma Jean (Hiles) Lowery.

He graduated from Connellsville High School Class of 1968 and a year later he graduated from Barber School.

In 1973, he began to work at the North Fayette Municipal Water Authority from which he would retire in 2007.

He was a Scout Master of Troop 119 of Saint Rita Church in Connellsville. He was very active with Scouts and he enjoyed camping.

Roy was a member of the Eagles Aerie 3292 in Leisenring (Dunbar Township), The Slovak Club and The Polish Club both in Connellsville, Pa., an Honorary Member of the Juniata Sportsman’s Club, and an Honorary Member of Hutchinson Sportsmen’s Club.

‘Pap Lowery’ especially loved watching//attending his grandchildren’s soccer and baseball games.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Ronald ‘Ronnie’ Lowery.

He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Beverly A. Lowery (Matrunics); children: Brian Lowery and wife Kelly of Scottdale, Pa., William ‘Bill’ Lowery and wife Kelly ‘Huff’ of Dunbar, Pa., Rebecca A. Taylor ‘Lowery’ and husband Travis of Uniontown, Pa., Charles Lowery of Orlando, Florida, Jeremy Lowery of Connellsville, Pa.; three beautiful grand children: Logan, Laiken, and Lexie; brother, Jesse Lowery and wife Judy of Dunbar, Pa.; sister, Donna McClintock and husband Bud of Dunbar, Pa.; his dog, Bear; many nieces and nephews.

Family and Friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME INC., Dennis N. Heath Jr., Supervisor, 418 North Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville, Pa., on Thursday from 1 to 9 p.m. with a Parish Wake Service held at 2:30 p.m.

On Friday, May 13, 2016 Prayers of Transfer will be said in funeral home at 9:30 a.m.

A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. in the Saint Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Ranch Road, Dunbar, with Rev. Father Micah E. Kozoil as Celebrant and Rev. Father Robert T. Lubic as Concelebrant.

Interment will follow at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Dunbar, Pa.
