Dorothy C. McLaughlin
Dorothy C. (Moredock) McLaughlin, age 83, of Masontown, Pa., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Mount Macrina Manor on Sunday, October 30, 2016.
She was born on September 4, 1933 in Jefferson, Pa., daughter of the late Charles and Weatha (Davis) Moredock.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by daughter Pamela Susan McLaughlin on November 1, 1970; and sisters Alice Kridle, Esther Keefer, and Helen Natale. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Surviving is her loving husband of 58 years, Frank W. McLaughlin; their sons, William F. ‘Bill’ McLaughlin and wife Debbie of Morgantown, W.Va., Michael G. ‘Mike’ McLaughlin and wife Carol, and Frank D. McLaughlin and wife Leslie all of Masontown, Pa.; granddaughters, Rachel Camden and husband Zack and Samantha McLaughlin, both of Morgantown, W.Va.; and a great grand son, Cooper Camden.
The family expresses their thanks and appreciation to the staff, nurses and caregivers at Mount Macrina Manor for their care and compassion.
‘Do’, as she was lovingly known by her family and friends, was a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, formerly All Saints Church, Masontown, Pa.
In past years, she worked for Foodland Market, D.J.’s Dairy Queen, and Hamo’s Clothing.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grand mother and great grand mother; enjoyed cooking, baking, and festivities of the holidays with her family. Her gentle and patient spirit will be remembered and treasured forever.
Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOME, 515 North Main Street, Masontown, Pa., today, November 1, from 12 Noon until 8 p.m. and Wednesday, November 2, until 9:30 a.m. when the Prayers of Transfer will be said.
The Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, 101 West Church Ave., Masontown, Pa., with Rev. Father Alvin Enal Cabungcal as Celebrant.
Interment will be held at Saint Agnes Cemetery, Masontown, Pa.
