Warrant issued for man accused of raping three girls
An arrest warrant was issued Tuesday for a Farmington man after three alleged victims came forward to say he raped them as children.
Daniel Eugene Stoffa, 63, is facing 162 charges in two separate cases filed before Magisterial District Judge Wendy Dennis.
Two sisters, ages 11 and 16, reported Stoffa raped them repeatedly for about five years. The third alleged victim, now age 22, told police Stoffa sexually assaulted her when she was 16, according to court documents.
The 16-year-old girl reported Stoffa would hold her down and rape her with her younger sister present, and then rape her sister. She said on one occasion, she told him, “That isn’t what you’re supposed to be doing to kids, and you’re an adult.”
She said she was scared of Stoffa, who allegedly told them that “if they ever told, it would be their worst mistake,” the affidavit said.
The younger sister reported Stoffa first raped her when she was 6 or 7 years old. She said he would hold her down so she couldn’t move, describing the assaults as “disgusting.” She said the last assault was in August, according to court documents.
The third alleged victim said Stoffa ripped her jogging pants off while she was asleep on the couch and raped her. She told police she head-butted him and struggled to prevent the alleged assault. She said he raped her four or five times between New Year’s Eve 2010 and June 2011, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
Stoffa is charged with 15 counts of rape, 30 counts of rape of a child, 50 counts of aggravated indecent assault, 35 counts of indecent assault of a person less than 13 and 15 counts of indecent assault of a person less than 16 in the first case. He is charged with four counts each of rape, aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault in the second case.
