Andy Marish
Andy Marish, 89 of Brownsville, Pa. (Centerville Boro.) died unexpectedly Wednesday November 2, 2016 in Jefferson Regional Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born April 25, 1927 in Brownsville a son of the late John and Mary Kovach Marish.
Mr. Marish attended Centerville High School and was a veteran of WW II serving as a Sargent in the U.S. Army in the Eurpean Theatre of Operations.
He worked as an underground coal miner for Jones & Laughlin Steel Corp. at Vest No. 5 and Shannopin mines for over 42 years before retiring.
Mr. Marish was Catholic by faith and was a member Hanson-Cole American Legion Post No. 391 of Fredericktown, the Victory Club of Denbo and the United Mine Workers of America Local No. 762.
Surviving are three sons: Andrew M. Marish (Deborah) of Denbo, Pa., Wayne E. Marish (JoAnn) of Front Royal, Va., Jody W. Marish (Michelle) of Bethel Park, Pa.; two daughters, Janine Marish of Brownsville, and Diane S. Yocolano (Manuel) of Monongahela; five grandchildren: Jessica Davis, Alaina Yocolano, Manuel Yocolano IV, Janie Brusick, Shannon Brennan; one great grandchild, Aliannah Rae Benning, and several nieces and nephews.
He is the last of his immediate family.
On July 1, 1952 he married Audrey Lynch Marish who died May 5, 1999.
Deceased in addition to his parents and wife is a grandson, Manuel Yocolano III and eleven brothers and sisters.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. in the GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 42 Bank St. at Crawford Rd. where a blessing service will be held Saturday, November 5, 2016 at a time to be announced.
Interment will be in St. Peters Cemetery, Brownsville, Pa.
Full graveside military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post No. 391 Honor Guard.
