Wilson Jimmy Reed
He went home to glory on Saturday, November 5 2016 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born June 17, 1932 to William W. Reed and Delilah (Betts) Reed.
Everyone knew him as Jimmy.
He graduated from the old Redstone High School in 1948.
Jimmy joined the United States Army during the Korean War as a Paratrooper.
He retired as Warehouse Supervisor from Michael Berkowitz Company.
He joined the Masonic Order at the age of 29 and worked his way up to be Grand Master of the state of Pennsylvania.
He was a member of Mt Olivet Baptist Church where he was Deacon. Deacon Reed loved the Lord and knew the Bible.
Left to cherish his memory are his dedicated wife, Nancy Lee Reed; children: Frank Reed of Durham, North Carolina, James M. Reed and Belinda Reed of Norfolk, Virginia John Thomas of Ralph, Pa., Rella Holt Minor of Texas, and Ryland Holt of Uniontown, Pa.; sister, Agnes Harrison of Uniontown, Pa.; aunt, Helen Shaw of Hiller, Pa.; step-children: Anita Barzart of Irwin, Pa., Alberta Lee and Fannie Lee both of Uniontown, Pa.; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives; and many friends.
The viewing will be on Friday, November 11, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at JOHN WESLEY A.M.E. ZION CHURCH, 349 East Main Street, Uniontown. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at John Wesley A.M.E. Zion Church with Rev. Linda Arthur officiating. Rev. Vincent Winfrey will deliver the Eulogy.
