Edward Linn ‘Ed’ Laughery Sr., age 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 29th, 2016 in El Cajon (San Diego), California.

Ed was born March 14, 1933 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania to Roy E. Laughery and Dorothy E. (McCormick) Laughery.

Ed was the youngest of four siblings. His mother passed away when he was three years old. His father then remarried Erma (King) Laughery.

In his early years, he worked for the local Gulf Gas Station and was a volunteer firefighter back in Pennsylvania. He started to drive big rigs for several moving and storage companies. He moved to California where he drove for 23 years for United Van Lines Sullivan Moving & Storage before retiring.

He volunteered his time with the Salvation Army Church up to the time he had gotten sick.

He enjoyed watching NASCAR and football, and going camping and loved to listen to the old country songs. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Dad now joins the long convoy of all truckers passed.

I Love you Sr., You will be with me in my Heart, until I see you again, Jr.

Dad would always say I lived my life “My Way” from Elvis Presley.

You will always be my Hero, I love you Dad. Our memories will be forever in our hearts.

Ed was preceded in death by his mother, his father, his siblings and other family members.

Ed is survived by his wife Doris; children: Edwina Hoy-Power, Edward Laughery Jr., Tina Laughery, Tony Laughery, Naomi Pierson and Lora Grisafi; his beloved grandchildren: Brenda Elizalde, Brandon Elizalde-Hoy, Christopher Johnson, Athena Nicholson, Ashly Nicholson, Levi Darrow, Zachary Laughery and Wynonna Laughery, Danielle Laughery, Dominique Pierson and Natalia Pierson, Jackie Grisafi and Emily Grisafi and many more extended family across the United States.
