Alexander ‘Alex’ McCune, 85, of Jefferson Township, Fayette City, Pa., passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 13, 2016 in Mon Valley Hospital surrounded by his family

He was born September 3, 1931 in Newell, Pa., son of Anthony McCune and Sophie Blaschak McCune

Alex was a member of The Historic Church of Saint Peter in Brownsville, Pa.

He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth J. (Sheehan) McCune; two daughters Alexis Weldon and husband Patrick of Monongahela, Pa., and Kristen Katic and husband John of Perryopolis, Pa.; three grandchildren Tim Katic, Patrick Weldon and Beth Anne Katic; two sisters Anita Filchock and Lorraine Babich; nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law Loretta and Regis Geller; and two brothers-in-law, Edward Filchock and Paul Babich.

Family and Friends will be received Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 334 Main Street, Fayette City. www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com

Blessing Services will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:15 in The Historic Church of Saint Peter, Brownsville, with Reverend Father Timothy J. Kruthaupt as the Celebrant.

Interment will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Route 40, Brownsville Pa
