Cheryl J. Livingston Mehalovich
Cheryl J. (Livingston) Mehalovich, age 68, of Hopwood, Pa. lost her courageous battle with ALS on Friday, November 11, 2016 in her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Washington, Pa. on July 11th, 1948, a daughter of Adeline Marino Livingston and the late William Livingston.
Cheryl was a graduate of Washington High School and Penn State University. She began her career as a school teacher in Wyoming County, W.Va., then continued her career as a case worker for the PA Department of Human Services with 20 years of service. She retired in 2008.
She and her husband Brian raised three sons. Her life was about her family and she was dedicated to them.
Left to cherish Cheryl’s life are her husband of 46 years, Brian M. Mehalovich; Sons: Matthew Mehalovich of Hopwood, Pa., Michael Mehalovich and wife Shelley of Uniontown, Pa. and Mark Mehalovich of Keller, Texas; Her mother Adeline Livingston of Washington, Pa.; brothers: Bruce Livingston of Washington, Pa., Brian Livingston and wife Lori of Export, Pa., Keith Livingston of Washington, Pa., and Kent Livingston and wife Angela of Aurora, Ill.; Her sisters: Lynn Livingston of Mesa, Ariz., Valerie Gattinella and husband Wayne of Greenwich, Conn., and Dawna Lacouture of Cannonsburg, Pa.; two grandchildren, Livia and Stella; sister-in-law Judith Berger of Pittsburgh, Pa. and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME.
The family will receive friends at WHYEL CHAPEL at the Jumonville Christian Camp and Retreat Center, Jumonville Rd. in Hopwood on Saturday, November 19th from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., immediately followed by a Memorial Service at 12 noon, celebrating Cheryl’s life, with Pastor Tim Tanner officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to be made in Cheryl’s memory to the ALS Foundation in Pittsburgh at www.cure4als.org.
