More than 14 fire departments were called to battle a blaze at a Redstone Township business and residence on National Pike Road Monday afternoon.
About one mile of road was closed off while firefighters worked to extinguish the fire at Andy Johnson’s Tires, which is attached to a residence, officials said. A fire marshal was called to investigate.
No injuries were reported by 4:45 p.m. Monday when first responders had been on the scene for three hours.
Republic, Grindstone, South Brownsville, North Brownsville, Allison No. 2, Smock, New Salem, Adah, Hiller, Footedale, Edenborn, Isabella, Tower Hill, and several Washington County fire departments responded to the scene, according to a Fayette County 911 supervisor. Redstone and Brownsville police and Fayette EMS were also called to the scene.
