Leo Broad, United States Navy Veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict
Leo Broad, age 90, of Uniontown, Pa., died Monday, November 21, 2016 at the Uniontown Hospital.
He was born December 19, 1925 in Uniontown, Pa., the son of George D. Broad and Gwendolyn (Davis) Broad.
Leo was predeceased by his parents; and his sister, Rita Sesler.
He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict serving in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theatre of Operations.
Leo was a member of Teamsters Local 491 and was formerly employed with Eastern Freight Lines, Quinn Freight Lines, and Preston Freight Lines.
He enjoyed his yard work and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates fan.
Surviving are his loving wife of 61 years, Evelyn (Cunningham) Broad; children: Rhonda Bunda and husband Frank Bunda, Uniontown Pa., and Thomas Broad and wife Diana Broad of Uniontown, Pa.; grand children: Justin, Lynze, Herb, Nathan and Taylor great grandchildren: Kyla, Cayden and Austin; brother, Merrill Broad and wife Phyllis, Tuscon, Arizona; many nieces and nephews; and his loving cat, Silly.
The family will greet friends and family in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m and Saturday, November 26, 2016 until 10:00 a.m., the hour of the Service with Reverend Peter Malik officiating.
Interment follows in Mountain View Memorial Park, Brownfield, Pa., with Military Rites and Honors by the General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103.
